SESC were engaged as Commissioning Agents for the Park Hyatt St. Kitts Christophe Harbour, which is a 2,500 acre development, consisting of 126-bedroom resort set within Christophe Harbour and spans the secluded beach of Banana Bay. The resort has 78 rooms and 48 suites are designed by architects Arcadia Design, with interiors by GA Design International and incorporate local materials and intertwining contemporary architecture with colonial design. This project was the first Park Hyatt in the Caribbean and includes the first Miraval Life in Balance spa, a 37,752sq ft (3,000sq m) state-of-the-art oasis. The resort also boasts 1,750sq ft (162.5sq m) fitness centre. The project was tough due to its distribution across a 2,500 acre site, spread throughout local terrain with multiple structures to be designed, commissioned, and handed over. To add extreme adversity and complexity to the project the island took a direct hit from the category 5 Hurricane Irma. Luckily the SESC team were ok and continued work almost immediately. One of our proudest moments as a company was our organisation and administration of the Hurricane Irma Relief movement which culminated in the organisation of an Island football competition which involved local residents, guests, VIPs, contractors and SESC team members competing in an island wide football tournament to raise money to kick start the islands recovery process, with all proceeds going to the local disaster relief fund.
